KaTeker Command backup_system

NAME: backup_system

   backup_system -- command line interface of KaTeker backup system

SYNOPSIS:

   backup_system    -v
   backup_system.pl -v

   backup_system.pl ...
   backup_system [-i] [ update                  | master               |
                        update_onto id ...      | save_update_onto id  |
                        select_media id media   |
                        list_sets               | list_contents set    |
                        list_files set pattern  |
                        list_media              | list_media_of id     |
                        list_archive archive    | blank_media id media |
                        log [N]                 | remove_kateker       |

                        help                    | -h                     ]

DESCRIPTION:

   backup_system    -v prints version information and finishes
   backup_system.pl -v prints version information and finishes

   backup_system is part of KaTeker.
   It saves seleced files in archives on HD and CD.

   tkateker provides more functionality with a GUI.
   Use tkateker to configure KaTeker.

   call : backup_system.pl [-i] command { parameter }
   call : backup_system    [-i] command { parameter }

   backup_system -i ...
   runs with user interaction otherwise backup_system takes always the default.

   The defined commands are
   -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
   master                 master all local backup sets.
   update                 update all local backup sets.
   update_onto id         update all local backup sets and save onto the
                          default or flexible media with id.
   save_update_onto id    save update of all backup sets onto the default
                          media with id.
   select_media id media  selects media with id as default media.
   list_sets              list all backup sets.
   list_contents set      list the archives of the backup 'set'.
   list_files set pattern list all files archived matching pattern.
   list_media             list media.
   list_media_of id       list media with id.
   list_archive archive   lists contents of actual archive.
   blank_media id media   blanks the media of type id.
   log N                  print the last N lines of the log file
   log                    print the last 16 lines of the log file
   version                print the actual version of backup_system
   remove_kateker         removes the archives, directories and files of KaTeker
   -h                     print a help message.
   help                   print a help message.
