A typical Restore dialog is shown in the screen shot below. The set BACKUP is selected by clicking onto a set in the list of defined backup sets. Into the pattern entry a regular expression of a file searched is entered. A target directory was selected clicking the <Define target directory> button. Using the <Find files> button the was one file in two archives found. The file on the media CDRW_1 will be restored when its row is double clicked. Then a confirmation dialog comes up an the file is restore into the directory /home/backup/tmp. There will be the new file home/backup/tmp/home/backup/KaTeker/Doc/WhatisKateker.html . If the entry of the target directory would be empty, the file /home/backup/KaTeker/Doc/WhatisKateker.html would be restored.
It is possible to restore all files in a directory too.
