This is not only a setup dialog but also an interface to fix some problems of KaTeker.
The <Help dialog> button creates the "Help" tap and raises it immediately. Using the <Hide help dialog at startup> menu button you can suppress that the "Help" tap is initially present. Changing this button will be recognized when the <Save configuration> Button is activated.
KaTeker can run concurrent tasks. This is to let the graphical interface active. But it can run an concurrent batch job too. There are some actions critical and can not done concurrent. The critical sections are controlled by semaphores. There are three critical sections:
The global critical section is that there is running a backup that is changing or saving the master or update archives.
The create section is occupied when backup data is changed.
The cache is the database holding information about the contents of the media, master and update.
It can happen when KaTeker crashed or one of the backup tasks are killed that the associated semaphore is still occupied although no concurrent backup job is using it. In this case you may release the semaphore.
This dialog is useful to solve error problems.
If KaTeker is started by root there is one more button: <Select user accessing CDR(W) recorder>. This is to select or deselect user which can use the CDR(W) recorder via sudo.
The root version of the "Setup->Control KaTeker" dialog. The <Select user accessing CDR(W) recorder> can be used to select/deselect user which can access the CDR(W) recorder. The <Access rights to CD recorder> will come up.
