Select user accessing CDR(W) using kdesu : try this is you are
running KDE![]()
Select user accessing CDR(W) using ssh : if the ssh daemon is
running try this![]()
Select user accessing CDR(W) using su : this will work if root
got access rights to the X-server![]()
Use no CDR(W) recorder device : you can define it later
The CDR recorder dialog informs you that you got no right to
access the CDR(W) recorder.
The normal dialog is described on the
page Setup CD recorder.
If you got no right to access the CDR(W) recorder there are two solutions.
Use the solution of cdrecord to give all user access to use
cdrecord:
read the man page of cdrecord and search for "To
give all user access to use cdrecord" and follow the
instruction.
Use KaTekers solution to give selected user access to use
cdrecord.
KaTekers uses sudo. It is necessary that sodo
is installed on your system.
There are up to tree buttons starting a dialog to fix this problem. If there is no button sudo ist not installed. Install it please.
Try the butter button first. Click the <Select user accessing CDR(W) recorder> button. Then a small window is coming up asking for the root password. Then a dialog to select/deselect user accessing the CDR(W) recorder is coming up. Restart tkateker or tkateker.pl and continue setting up.
If this dialog is not coming up, it can be
that you mistyped the root password
sudo is not installed
root got no right to access the X-server. Then do
on KDE use:
kdesu
/usr/local/bin/kateker_cdr_setup
use ssh:
ssh -X -l root
localhost /usr/local/bin/kateker_cdr_setup
use xhost: run as normal user ( not root )
xhost
+localhost
su
/usr/local/bin/kateker_cdr_setup
-display localhost:0.0
finally use no CDR recorder. This is the default if you got no access rights to the recorder.
