This is the "Master" dialog when no backup did run. There is only the <Master> button enabled. You have to create the master archive initially: hit the <Master> button. If you defined more backup sets than shown in the row with the <Master> button you can use the "Setup->Backup set groups" dialog to include more into the 'Standard' list.
The view of this dialog relates to the settings of the
"Setup->Backup set
groups" dialog.
The following settings are chosen
to illustrate the usage of the groups.
The Standard group is ( HOME, SRV, SYSTEM ).
The Master group
is ( HOME, SYSTEM ).
The group of CDR is ( HOME, SRV).
The
group of CDRW is ( HOME, SRV, SYSTEM ).
Master saves the Standard group. That is HOME, SRV and
SYSTEM.
Master onto CDR saves the sets in the CDR group and
the Master Group. That is HOME.
Master onto CDRW saves the sets in
the CDRW group and the Master Group. That is HOME and SYSTEM.
Update saves the Standard group. That is HOME, SRV and
SYSTEM.
Update onto CDR saves the sets in the CDR group and the
Standard Group. That is HOME and SRV.
Update onto CDRW saves the
sets in the CDRW group and the Standard Group. That is HOME, SRV and
SYSTEM.
In most cases the all groups would contain all backup sets defined. If a media is to small to hold the update data some backup sets should be removed. For CDR's does no matter that the master data does not fit onto one media. Then several media will be used. On the other side CDRWs often cannot be used to save master data. They should be used to save updated backup data.
No data is saved at all. The next page shows the result when the <Master> button was clicked.
While the master backup is running you can still work with KaTeker. Some buttons are disabled but you can for instance use the "Contents" dialog.
