A directory or file can be included or excluded when it is clicked with the right mouse button in the right window. A "Change entry dialog" will come up offering some operations. All changes are effective immediately. The Dialog offers also operations to split a directory or to analyze its contents.
The "Change entry dialogs" are described on a special page. It shows the actual state of the directory or file and its size if known. This value is the real size - not the compressed size - of the archive of the directory or file. If it is a directory the size of any files excluded is not included in the size of the archive, of course. If the size is not given and you need this value click the <Analyze> button and it will be calculated. Please note that this my take up to some minutes depending on the contents of the directory.
It is possible to whether the directory/file should be included or excluded in the backup. All changes are effective immediately when the <Ok> button of the subdialog is clicked.
The <OK split> button accepts the changes and splits the directory into subarchives. The "Split dialog" comes up. This is useful if the size of an archive is to large.
Furthermore it is possible to analyze a directory for problems and or its size using the <Analyze> button. The the directory and its subdirectories are analyzed whether all files are accessible or readable. While the analyze process is running, the "Define backup sets" dialog cannot be closed. There will be a blinking analyzing.

Change the settings and click <OK> or
accept the
changes and split the directory into subarchives or
ignore the
changes and <Analyze> the directory for problems.
