Description of the list of media.

The list shows all CDRW known by KaTeker.

The media column shows the names of the media of type CDRW defined. The order of the media depend on the order shown at the button <Order new fist>. It can be changed using this button or double clicking onto some fields of list of media. If a media of the media column is double clicked <Order by name> is selected.

The size column shows the size of the media - not the size of the data saved onto the media. A double click onto a media in size column will select this media. The red field with CDRW_1 will change to the media double clicked.

The mastered / updated at column shows not the date and time the data was saved onto the media but the data was mastered or updated. The "w 36" is the week of the year of the save date. Double clicking onto a media in the mastered / updated at column changes the order to <Order old first> and then toggles between <Order new first> and <Order old first>.

The type column shows the type of data saved onto the media - updated or mastered. Double clicking onto a media in the type column changes the order to <order unused first>.

The contents column shows the backup sets saved onto the media. This list can be abbreviated. The full list will be shown if a media in the contents column is double clicked. If the media holds backup sets not defined in the actual configuration there is a hint like "and 8 extra backup sets".

The state column shows the actual state of a media. The state can be Ok, Error, Clear or Intermediate. The state is changed by operations on media and shows the result of the last operation. A media with state Ok stores usable Data. A media with state Error holds data not valid. A media with state Clear holds no data. A media with state may hold some data but its state is undefined.

The temporary column shows temporary information. The temporary information can be changed by the user. It will be cleared by a operation (saving data or clearing) on the media. Double clicking onto a media in the temporary column opens a dialog to change the temporary information and an information not show in this "CDRWs" dialog.

Description of the buttons and fields

The <Order new first> button opens a menu list to select the order of the list of media. The other orders are <Order old first> <Order by name> and <Order unused first>.

<Print contents> button generates a CDRW label o a selected media and the data saved onto the media. The CDRW label shows the name of the media, the backup sets, the date the data was mastered/updates, and the archives saved. If this button is disabled, there is no printer selected in the "Setup->CDRW" dialog.

The <Print label> button generates a CDRW label o a selected media. The CDRW label shows the name of the media and save name. The CDRW label is generated by cdlabelgen. If this button is disabled, there is no printer selected in the "Setup->CDRW" dialog.

The <Select CDRW> button opens a dialog to select a CDRW. This CDRW will be used when master or backup data is saved onto a CDRW. While KaTeker is running interactive (tkateker) this CDRW media will be used. If backup_system is running, a flexible media type like CDRW will accept each CDRW media initialized by KaTeker. The selected media will be saved when the button <Save configuration> is clicked.

The field "CDRW_1" is the selected media.

The button <is flexible> if for information only.

The <Cache CDRW> button caches the contents of a CDRW into the database (cache) of KaTeker. This is useful if a CDRW was removed from the list of CDRW using the <Forget CDRW> button.

The <Forget CDRW> button removes a CDRW in the list and the database (cache) of KaTeker. The CDRW itself is not changed. A CDRW can be included into the list and database using the <Cache CD> button.

The <Restore CDRW> button copies all archives on a CDRW back onto the master or updated archives. This is useful when the master or updated archives are corrupted or lost.

The <New CDRW> button creates a new CDRW

The <Clear CDRW> button clears a CDRW. All data on the CDRW will be lost. It cannot be cached again.

The <Edit CDRW> button creates a new CDRW

The <Update CDRW> button creates a new CDRW
